Professional Development Options for Online Teaching

Notre Dame College offers a unique experience for a professor interested in teaching online courses.
Currently, Notre Dame College’s Department for Online Educational Services offers the following professional development course:

EDD 511 Online Teaching I

This course will examine online education as a pedagogy, and will introduce faculty to specific strategies and the best practices in teaching online courses. The course is taught each semester, including summer.

The delivery of online courses and programs has gained great popularity among both students and academic institutions, however, unrealistic perceptions still exist regarding both the possibilities and the limitations of online education. Faculty used to teaching in a face-to-face format may have some anxiety about teaching an online course because of the new delivery method and the technological aspect.

The EDD511 course will help you overcome your fears, develop online teaching skills and gain confidence in your talent and teaching knowledge.
