Accreditation
Notre Dame College is accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools to award Associate’s, Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees. The Education program is also accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education.
History
A Catholic institution in the tradition of the Sisters of Notre Dame, the college was established in 1922, and has never been afraid of adapting to the changing needs of its students. Originally an all women’s college welcomed its first male student’s body in January 2001The most recent 2009 IPEDS count data indicate that of the 982 students in the undergraduate traditional population 53.5 percent are male and 46.5 percent are female. In July 2003, Dr. Andrew Roth was named president by the Board of Directors. He became the 13th president and the second lay president in the college’s history. In his inaugural address Dr. Roth invited the entire college community of faculty, staff, students, and partners to join him in his voyage to help others discover Notre Dame College as the finest, small, Catholic liberal arts college in the Great Lakes region.
